Record LNG Deliveries to Europe in February 2026

The increased export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States, combined with weaker demand from China, is driving record volumes of LNG to the European market. Europe is boosting imports as gas stocks in storage remain below typical levels, with deliveries expected to reach around 14.2 million tons in February — significantly higher than a year earlier. At the same time, China is reducing spot LNG purchases and relying more on long-term contracts, freeing up additional volumes for European markets and helping to balance the global LNG market.
