Terminal in Krk, Croatia celebrates the arrival of 125th LNG cargo

LNG Croatia marked a significant milestone with the arrival of the 125th liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo at the Krk terminal, reinforcing its role as a key energy hub in the region. The delivery was carried out by the tanker Assos, owned by the leading Greek maritime transport company Capital Gas, based in Piraeus.

According to maritime data, the tanker departed from the Freeport LNG terminal in Texas, USA, to deliver this significant cargo. The Krk terminal continues to serve as a regional distribution center, supplying natural gas not only to Croatia but also to neighboring countries such as Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Serbia, and Montenegro. This role contributes to the diversification of energy sources in the region, reducing dependence on single suppliers and promoting competitive pricing, which enhances energy security and delivers economic benefits to consumers.

With the new heating season approaching, the Krk terminal is preparing to increase its capacity, enabling it to handle an even greater number of cargoes. This expansion will further support the transition to sustainable energy solutions and strengthen Krk’s position as an important LNG hub in Europe.
