Italy to get LNG from QatarEnergy-Exxon’s US Golden Pass from June

Italy is set to begin importing liquefied natural gas from the new Golden Pass LNG terminal in the United States as early as June 2026, marking the first deliveries from the project to the country. The facility, a joint venture between QatarEnergy and ExxonMobil, is expected to reach a capacity of approximately 18 million tonnes per year.
Italian energy company Edison holds a long-term contract for around 6.4 billion cubic metres of gas annually, equivalent to roughly 10% of the country’s consumption. The development comes as U.S. LNG exports continue to expand, supported by new large-scale infrastructure such as Golden Pass.
